What’s Your Come-From Place Around Change?
Change is inevitable. Each and every day change happens, no matter what. Change comes into our lives in small ways and huge ways.
Sometimes it’s a lost job. Sometimes it’s cancer. Sometimes the postman who delivers mail is not your usual guy (or gal). Sometimes it’s an inescapable inner calling to a greater purpose that causes you to change course for no rational reason.
The question is: Are you open to change? When you’re open to change, you are open to the possibilities and opportunities that are borne from uncertainty. You realize that you cannot control, you cannot know all that will happen, you cannot be in charge of every single little detail.
The world happens.
In contrast, when you’re closed to change you tend to contract and shrink back in the face of uncertainty. You close. You resist. You want things to stay as they are.
What happens when you’re closed? You don’t see clearly, you may miss what’s right in front of you. Not to mention it’s unpleasant to be tense and tightly closed.
Make no mistake, change is not easy. Change is fucking hard. No joke.
And yet, it is inevitable. We cannot escape it.
So what if we embrace change? What if we opened to the many gifts and infinite possibilities of an evolving world? What if opening up to the reality of change created space for what we’re wanting in the world to happen?
If you think it’s impossible, it likely will be impossible. If you’re open to the possibility, who knows what can happen . . .
Given the tremendous, inescapable shifts going on in the world, and the new ways in which people are experiencing their lives, I invite you to OPEN TO CHANGE.
Loosen your grip. It’s okay – there’s no need to hold so tightly. I know, sweet ones, it’s our human nature to do so. AND, life will go on no matter what.
So let go of your fear, step into the warm water of change. The water’s fine. Well, it’s not as bad as it seems.
There are infinite possibilities awaiting you when you open to the FLOW of what’s happening right now.

What Seeds Are You Planting This Spring?
When we look to the cycles of nature and relate them to our lives, we can begin to see how the ebbs and flows of Mother Nature resonate with an ancient knowing deep within us.
Spring is a time of new beginnings. Brown changes to green, life begins to sprout, the air feels fresh. As the sun gets warm, new things begin to bloom. Coming out of the cold and dark and barrenness of winter, spring is also a time to sow seeds that will come to fruition throughout the year.
The ground (literally & metaphorically) is fertile and ready for the seeds. Energy is available to help the seeds grow.
Seeds can be intentions for what you want to happen in coming months. The seeds can be the beginnings of plans you are setting in motion. They can be tangible actions that shift your course.
What seeds are you planting this spring?
Do you have an idea you want to move forward with, but find yourself stuck? Get in tune with the energy of spring. New ideas want to take root. Do you feel a natural shift happening in your life? Just as the seasons change, you could be opening up to a new phase of your life. Get in tune with the energy of spring. Shifts and changes are welcome here (even if they are challenging and frustrating at times).
Spring is a fantastic time to be choiceful. There is promise at this time of year. There are many opportunities. When you choose your path consciously, it allows you to spend your energy wisely and effectively to make those choices come to fruition.
Remember that change usually takes time. Important shifts in your career, life, or relationships don’t happen overnight. When you harness the power of intention, it allows you to take the reigns of the changes.
So get curious ~~ what seeds are you planting this spring? What seeds do you want to plant?

What is Your Personal Mission?
I believe that each human being on this planet was born with purpose. Each of us is unique and has something to express, something to offer in the world.
This unique offering is sometimes called a Life Purpose.
I like to call it a Personal Mission. A mission implies that the human being is aware of and is taking responsibility for their purpose. Fulfilling the purpose is a conscious undertaking that is carried out with intention and deliberateness.
It’s important to note that I didn’t always believe that people were born with a purpose. About 5 years ago, this concept was barely a blip on my radar screen. I had become blind to it, and purpose played a very small role in my life.
It was when I was working as an attorney that I started to get it. I looked at my future and was faced with the prospect of a lifelong career that held very little meaning for me personally. The prospect of spending days and years doing something with minimal meaning became too ominous, empty and increasingly impossible to live with.
Sidenote: I became a lawyer to help people. And, yes, it is very possible to help people as a lawyer. I had the opportunity to do so through my pro bono immigration work, and it was extremely rewarding. However, at some point I realized that the legal profession was not MY path of meaningful work. It just wasn’t the right fit. No judgment about lawyers dedicate their lives to their legal careers, especially if they are passionate about it. It’s just not my path.
So I embarked on a search for meaning and for meaningful work. I set out to discover what on earth I could possibly do that was more than just a paycheck, more than an “intellectual challenge,” something that would be personally fulfilling and a way to use my time and energy in a way that actually meant something to me. When I discovered the profession of coaching, I discovered what meaningful work could be. I began to understand meaning first as a concept, as a possibility. I began to see how meaning and purpose could lead to greater fulfillment and contributing to something larger than myself. I began to understand.
Then, gradually, as I continued my training and began working with people to create transformative shifts in their lives toward their own versions of meaning and purpose – I felt it. I felt the presence of meaning in my life.
For me, meaning feels like energy. It feels like life force coming alive in my chest. It feels light and clear. I feel the swell of pride that comes from overcoming challenges. I feel the frustration and discomfort that comes with going outside my comfort zone, and I feel the gratitude that flows from taking those risks and learning and growing as a result. I feel content. I feel uncertain sometimes, and simultaneously I feel the unmistakeable pull to continue. I feel alive.
My Personal Mission
My mission is ignite the power of the heart. My mission is to ignite the power of the heart to connect people to themselves and to the web of life that connects all living things.
I believe that the heart is the path to connection. I believe that the heart is the pathway to understanding that what we do to any living thing is actually what we do to ourselves. It’s the pathway to healing. It’s the pathway to changing the world.
I’m on a mission to ignite the heart’s power for the sake of aliveness, love and a thriving planet.
One way I fulfill this mission is by coaching passionate, purpose-driven humans who want more. There are other ways too, and coaching is the best way that I know of to fulfill that purpose today. I’m sharing my mission with you so that you can get a sense of what I’m up to, what I care about in the world. I share my mission with you so that you can get a sense of what a mission is in the first place. I share my mission to underline my point that in a matter of less than 5 years I went from having no concept whatsoever of what a purposeful life could entail, to being clear about my purpose and coming back to it every day so that I can work toward living it more fully.
Do you know what your personal mission is? - Are you looking for more meaning in your life?
- Are you looking to understand what purpose you’re alive to fulfill?
- Do you want to connect with your personal mission?
- Do you want to live your personal mission in the world?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! More and more people on this planet are feeling the call for meaning, purpose and contribution. I am honored and privileged to talk to some of them (more and more of them) every week.
Knowing that these people exist, knowing that they want more, knowing that they want to be part of the solution gives me hope. I know that there are people who want to make the world a better place. It gives me hope because I know that other people have hope.
Believe me, I realize that it’s not always easy to talk about our yearnings for meaning and our desire to contribute more fully to creating a better world. A lot of people we meet every day don’t get it. It’s not on their radar screens yet. Or maybe they do, but they’re afraid to talk about it.
I want you to know that there is a growing community of people that DO get it. They want the same things that you want.
If you’d like to talk with someone who gets it, simply call me or email me!
I would love to talk with you.
I’d love to help you plant that seed of meaning, and/or water it, and/or nurture it’s growing and expression. I specialize in coaching people who feel that yearning, people want more for their life and are finding their unique path to creating it. I coach people who want to contribute to the world, people who want to feel useful. People who want to feel that what they do each day has meaning. I would love to help you on your journey in whatever way I can.
So drop me a line! Pick up the phone! Life is short and time is precious. I’d LOVE to talk more with you.
Because you matter. Who you are matters. What you do matter. The world needs you.

The Big “Yes”
Do you know the feeling of a big, unqualified “YES!”?
When the decision is so undeniably clear.
When the choice is not even a choice.
When there’s a perfect fit.
When there’s no thinking or reasoning required.
When it seems like you made a specific request to the Universe and you got exactly what you asked for?
I say: Go for THAT feeling when you’re choosing your path.
What would like be like if you did?

Today’s Tiny Miracles
In my line of work, more often than not I’m talking with someone about how they want their life to be different. We spend time getting really clear on what the “different” looks like, feels like, what makes it so juicy that the person can’t help but go for it, and what is needed to actually create the changes in their life.
We want our careers, our lives, our relationships to be different. We want things to be better. We want our daily lives to be more aligned with our values and who we are.
We want things to be more fulfilling and more meaningful. We want things to be more fun, more challenging.
We want to grow and learn. We want to contribute. We want to feel more alive.
I think this is AWESOME. It’s one reason I love love love what I do. I get to work with people who are striving / willing / seeking / desiring / acting for positive change in their lives, in their careers, in their relationships, and in the world. I believe that makes the world a better place. It’s what I’m passionate about, and I am so grateful to be able to do it.
And….
Today is an infinitely blessed day. Just as it is.
So many things are right at this moment.
You are alive. You are breathing. Today you will experience countless different things. You can feel a whole range of emotions. You can smile. You can hug someone. These are miracles.
I give deep thanks for these endless tiny miracles. I am so grateful.
And I still want the world to be better.
What are you grateful for today?

Inspiration Winter In my creative process, the inspiration isn’t always here. Sometimes the trees get bare and the flowers don’t pop up from the soil of my mind and heart. Inspiration can't keep going going going for 365 days a year…right??
Sometimes what’s needed is to go inward and just be with what is for a while.
Right now seems like one of those times. The last few months have been lots of doing and creating. My heart is telling me to just be for a short while. Winter has come – figuratively and also literally here in New England (at long last) – and I can’t force it to suddenly leave.
When I see that there are natural rhythms (over which I have little control), I am able to relax into the seemingly more barren creative times. There is something else I must be doing in these times, rather than creating and doing. Even nature has to take a rest before blooming in the spring. And so must I.
I’m okay with that, because I know that my cycle continues, just as nature’s does.
What do you like to do when you find yourself in a winter of creative inspiration?
